About the role
Back in 2012, we were a group of engineers and designers who decided we wanted to build things, so we did. Able started as an engineering and product hub building for a portfolio of early-stage startups. We built many relationships while developing products that were thoughtful, effective, and genuinely useful. But, since then, we’ve grown… and so has our ambition.
Now, we’re entering our next chapter, defined by applied AI. AI is a powerful force in the end-to-end software development cycle, and we’re creating practices that allow us to deliver software fast and more effectively than traditional approaches, creating meaningful value for our partners. Today, our builder mindset is driving us to become an AI-native organization across every function. We’re still evolving, and that’s part of the opportunity. If you want to build, learn, and tackle challenges alongside an ambitious team, let’s build together.
This position is 100% remote in Latin America.
About the Role
We’re looking for an Operations Analyst (Finance) to join Able’s growing Operations function and work closely with our Head of Finance. This is a hands-on role with two connected areas of ownership: finance execution and business insights. You’ll help keep the financial side of the business running reliably, from payroll and expenses to monthly close support, while also building the reporting and dashboards leadership needs to make better decisions.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both getting the numbers right and figuring out what the numbers are telling us. You’ll have the opportunity to build processes, improve systems, and establish reporting capabilities that don’t exist today.
What We’re Looking For
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Finance Operations
- Own payroll execution across LATAM and US systems, including contractor payments and payroll reconciliation.
- Manage employee expenses, corporate cards, receipts, approvals, and reimbursements.
- Support the monthly close process through journal entries, reconciliations, invoice tracking, and accounts receivable follow-up.
- Maintain accurate, clean, and reconciled financial data across relevant systems.
- Partner with the Head of Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis.
- Identify discrepancies and investigate issues until the underlying cause is understood and resolved.
Data & Business Insights
- Build and maintain Able’s leadership dashboard, covering key business metrics such as revenue, pipeline, retainer health, utilization, and cash.
- Establish recurring weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting for the leadership team.
- Define and document business metrics so teams are working from consistent definitions and data.
- Provide ad hoc analysis to support strategic and operational decisions.
- Monitor data quality across systems such as HubSpot or Attio, Deel, and Greenhouse, and coordinate resolution of issues when they arise.
- Turn fragmented data into clear, actionable insights for leadership and other stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–6 years of experience in finance operations, financial analysis, business operations, or a related analytical role, ideally within a growing company.
- Hands-on experience with payroll, expense management, and monthly financial close processes.
- Strong analytical skills and advanced spreadsheet proficiency.
- Experience working with SQL and/or business intelligence tools such as Metabase, Looker Studio, or similar.
- Experience building dashboards, reports, or analyses for leadership audiences.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of comfort working with financial data.
- Familiarity with tools such as Deel, Justworks, HubSpot, Attio, Greenhouse, or comparable systems.
- Ability to communicate clearly and confidently with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong ownership and the ability to manage work independently in a growing, evolving environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting both US and LATAM payroll or finance operations.
- Experience working in a startup, services business, or other lean operating environment.
- Experience establishing reporting processes or analytics capabilities from scratch.
- Experience with financial planning, forecasting, or budgeting.
- Experience using AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or similar as part of your day-to-day work.
What Success Looks Like
We’re looking for someone who brings more than technical skills. The right person for this role is:
- AI-fluent. You already use AI tools in your day-to-day work to analyze information, automate repetitive tasks, draft materials, and work more efficiently.
- A builder. You’re comfortable creating processes and systems where there isn’t a playbook yet. You’d rather ship a useful first version and improve it than wait for perfection.
- Detail-oriented. You understand that financial operations require precision. When the numbers don’t tie, you want to know why.
- A clear communicator. You surface problems early, ask questions when something is unclear, and communicate what you know — and what you don’t.
- Comfortable with ambiguity. Able is growing and evolving quickly. You’ll help shape the processes and systems you’ll eventually own.
Able is powered by curious, thoughtful people who care about what they build and how they build it. We’re actively investing in our team through AI training, knowledge-sharing, and hands-on experimentation to ensure everyone grows alongside the technology.
This position is 100% remote in Latin America. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are a requirement.
As a team member, you can expect:
- To work 40 hours per week, and be available during normal business hours as needed.
- Payments made in USD.
- 18 days of PTO per year, observance of local holidays, and an annual break between Christmas and New Years.
- Wellness + Remote Stipend
- AI Voucher
